Also, it just doesn't seem likely that they developed a driver to work on both editions if the last OS required a separate driver. I have used this camera successfully with the PC. Namttai, I've moved on to Windows 8, and although I read that the Windows 7 driver would work for Windows 8, this is not true.

I mean I was bih to record videos, take pictures …It also worked just fine with windows Skype. How satisfied are you with this response?

When i type in the last command in the cmd it says it is protected by the startup policy, i am running it as an administrator. People waste countless hours of their lives trying to use archaic hardware or to save a few bucks. You sir are a legend, just tried this on Windows 10 and it worked perfectly…… I will be able to continue using my PS2 Camera for headtracking….

Are you sure you have an Administrator Command Prompt? A rare foray into the world of Windows, but with a new PC and Windows 8 on board, set about getting the old Eyetoy to work as a webcam.

Originally I had the same problem bamtai others, not being able change bcdedit. Did you use the download from here for the driver.

This issue on Windows 7 64 bit had been resolved by taking the Hercules OmniVision 64 bit driver and tweaking some of the entries. Als has motion tracking software to make thing s easier.

Why even go through all this hassle After multiple re-boots, and different ways of attempting to install the driver for my eye-toy, it refuses to co-operate with Windows 8 as it did with Windows 7. A reliable driver you must have for your webcam Piergagnon Coulibaly. Worked perfectly in Windows 8.

This is the type of driver known as plug and play because of how fast they can detect the device they are supposed to support. Now, there is 1 driver not specific to either edition, and tons of steps which ejetoy a bit rediculous to just install a driver.
